Why You Need a Catalog Page Before You Think You Do
There's a moment in every small product business where you realize that sharing your work through WhatsApp photos, Instagram posts, or emailed PDFs is not scaling. Every time someone new asks what you sell, you have to put together something from scratch.
A product catalog page solves this permanently. Instead of piecing together information every time, you have one clean, always-current page you can share with anyone. A link that shows your products professionally, with photos, descriptions, and prices, accessible on any device, any time.
It doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. Here's exactly how to build one for free.
What to Prepare Before You Build
Gather these things before you open any platform. Having them ready means the actual build takes 20 to 30 minutes.
Your product list. Write out every product you want to include. Start with your best sellers or most important items. You don't need to include everything on day one.
Descriptions for each product. Aim for two to four sentences. Include the key details a buyer needs: materials, dimensions, colors available, what makes it worth buying.
Prices. Decide whether to show prices publicly. For retail products, showing prices is almost always better because it reduces friction.
Photos. Ideally one good photo per product. Clear, well-lit, on a neutral background or in a natural setting.
Step 1: Create Your Account
Sign up at pinify.net for free. Choose a username that matches your business name. This becomes part of your catalog URL.
Step 2: Open the Catalog Section
In your dashboard, click on Catalog. Click to create a new catalog.
Give your catalog a name that describes what it contains. If you sell handmade jewelry, "Handmade Jewelry by [Your Name]" is clear and searchable. Choose a catalog type: gallery works well for products, portfolio for creative work.
Step 3: Add Your Items
Click to add your first item. For each item you add a title, description, price, image, and optionally a link.
Keep titles clear and descriptive. "Sterling Silver Leaf Earrings" is more useful than "Earrings 04." Take your time with the descriptions, they directly affect whether someone will contact you.
Step 4: Arrange Your Items
You can drag items into any order. Put your most popular or most visually impressive products first. The first items a visitor sees create the impression of your whole range.
Step 5: Publish
Publish your catalog. Pinify gives you a URL like pinify.net/catalog/your-catalog-name.
Where to Share Your Catalog
Instagram bio. Put your catalog link in your Pinify bio link page, which you then link from your Instagram bio.
WhatsApp status. Share your catalog link on your status so existing contacts can browse.
Email signature. Add your catalog URL to your email signature. Every email you send becomes a passive referral.
Business cards. Print your catalog URL on your business card.
Google Business Profile. Add your catalog URL to your website field or in a post.
Direct messages. When someone asks what you sell, send them the link.
How to Keep Your Catalog Current
The main maintenance task is keeping your catalog accurate. Items you no longer make should be removed. New items should be added as soon as you have a good photo and description ready.
If prices change, update them immediately. A buyer who contacts you based on a price that has changed has a frustrating experience.
Set a reminder to review your catalog once a month. It takes about fifteen minutes to check everything is current.
